Looking for an inspiring workspace ? MAD Brussels is offering a studio for a professional in the fashion or design sector. Join one of our MAD Srudios, a creative and stimulating environment shared with ten resident designers.

Are you a designer based in Brussels, searching for the perfect space to grow your practice? Do you have a unique skill set that you want to develop within a creative community?

MAD Brussels is offering a dedicated studio for an experienced professional in the fashion or design industry. Located within our MAD Studios, this workspace is shared with ten designers currently enrolled in our MAD Incubator program. By bringing added value in terms of creativity and sustainability, you will contribute to the exchange of ideas and collaborations with our resident designers.

WHAT DOES THIS OPEN CALL OFFER YOU?

The selected designer or studio will benefit from :

A private 45m² studio within the residency ;
Access to shared workshops equipped for prototyping in both fashion (industrial sewing machines, overlock machines, heat presses, etc.) and design (table saws, welding stations, ceramic kilns, metal bending tools, etc.) ;
MAD Brussels' industry network,
connecting you with key players in the creative sector and fostering new collaborations.
Ressources and opportunities, including access to open calls, event invitations, and networking with businesses and partners in the Brussels creative ecosystem.

In return, the selected designer or studio commits to:

Paying a monthly rent of
€450, covering all expenses.
Respecting the MAD Incubator studio regulations.
Actively contributing to knowledge exchange with the ten resident designers.
Being open to collaborations and co-creations with fellow residents.

Residency duration

The selected designer or studio will be able to move into the studio from late March / early April 2025 for a non-renewable 18-month period, with a maximum stay until 15 October 2026. Either party may terminate the agreement with three months' notice.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Your brand or studio

Must be based in the Brussels-Capital Region and hold a Belgian VAT number.
Must have been operating for at least one year as a creative entrepreneur.

Project’s economic potential

Demonstrates financial viability with a business plan and financial strategy.
Has a clear understanding of its target market and customers (BMC and market analysis).
Contributes to the visibility of Brussels at both a local and international level.
