Lecture

On Friday evening, March 7, we kick off Slowroom Brussels with a lecture by REantwerp. Founded by designer Tim Van Steenbergen and journalist Ruth Goossens, REantwerp is a fashion label that combines sustainability with a social mission. The label exclusively works with refugees, training them in their atelier for up to six months to prepare them for jobs in the Belgian fashion industry. For their collections, they only use deadstock fabrics from Belgian designers, creating innovative pieces that celebrate the craftsmanship and personal stories of their team members.

Friday, March 7, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission to this lecture is included in your Slowroom ticket (€7).

Sustainable performances & workshops

On Saturday 8 March, and Sunday 9 March, Slowroom Brussels invites you to a series of hands-on workshops on repair, restoration, and custom tailoring. It’s a great chance to learn from skilled artisans and designers while picking up techniques to mend and revamp your clothes.   In addition to live demos and expert tips, you’ll get to roll up your sleeves and give it a try yourself! Got a favorite piece with a hole or tear? Or maybe an old garment that could use a fresh new look? Bring it along and work on it yourself, or let one of our designers restore it for you.

Check out our lineup of workshops:

  • Aurélie Defez, who will lead a digital embroidery workshop, allowing participants to personalize their garments with humorous phrases or graphic visuals.

  • CYCLUP, hosting small-group workshops where participants can customize clothing using textile patches.

  • Keriko Studio, offering insight into leather restoration techniques to revive leather goods and accessories.

  • Studio Anneleen Bertels, providing bespoke textile repair and embellishment, turning garments into unique, artistic pieces through her craftsmanship and jeweler-inspired embroidery.

  • Toufan Hosseiny, transforming worn garments into poetic works of art using her visible mending technique.

Saturday 8 March & Sunday 9 March, from 12am to 6pm.
Access to the workshops space is included in your Slowroom ticket (€7).

Music & performances

Slowroom also promises to be a festive experience. That's why, in addition to the sales, music will play a significant role throughout the weekend.
